Artistic swimming

The water has always been my element. I learned swimming  on my own by the age of four and I loved it ever since . But eventually, swimming laps alone started to feel boring.

Music has always been a huge part of my life at the same time. My violin classes started when I was six, later I  took singing lessons, and loved to listen to music all day long.

Artistic swimming  was the perfect mix of both. I started when I was eight and immediately fell in love with it:

I trained five times a week, including swimming and endurance training in the water, as well as strength training on land and flexibility exercises.

Artistic swimming is a high-performance sports so training that much was what we all had to do in order to succeed as a team.  It was hard work but it was worth it to see results and get better every day. Eventually my and my teams dedication and hard work paid off, leading us to compete in many championships and claiming several wins.

Now, 15 years later, I’m still in the water every week, but no longer for competitions. These days, I focus on coaching my girls, sharing the joy and discipline that synchronized swimming has given me.

It’s amazing to see them grow and to know that my love for that sport is being passed on to the next generation.
